Research Group Babylab
In our projects, we want to find out more about how babies and young children perceive and discover the world around them. We are particularly interested in social and emotional development:
How do babies perceive faces? Can babies already recognize whether someone is happy or sad? What role do the various senses, such as sight and hearing, but also smell, for example, play? With older children, we are interested in more complex questions, such as how social hierarchies or complex actions are processed.
Different methods are used depending on the project. These include, for example, behavioral observations, eye tracking and questionnaires filled out by the parents. We primarily use EEG to investigate the neurbiological basis. You can find more information about our projects and current studies on our homepage:
