Research Interests
With my research, I'd like to investigate the underlying mechanisms of self-other distinction through affective touch: Does C-fiber activating touch modulate empathetic pain? How do we regulate our own emotions in order to successfully monitor and evaluate another one's emotional state? In this regard, how do mentally distressed persons differ from healthy ones? How can research help to identify, understand and alleviate individual difficulties with emotion regulation and to foster relationships? |
